Further to our activities and information in the past, we cordially invite you to WWP parallel event during CSW65:

Breaking Paradigms: Local Women Peace Initiatives to Promote the Full Participation of Women in Decisions Related to Peace and Security

Date: 24 March 2021, Time: 1PM NY time, 7PM Israel time.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women. The sixty-fifth session of the Commission will take place from 15 to 26 March 2021, and its priority theme is “Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

Join us to discuss innovative approaches to breaking the old paradigms about women, peace, and security. The discussion will focus on practical ways to ensure women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life. We will present an innovative Bill aiming to rationalize decision making by the government on security issues, and our new project “partners for peace”.

The Keynote speaker is the Honourable Mobina S.B. Jaffer, QC, Senator, Canada. She is a strong advocate for peace and inclusion, and a champion of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Throughout her career she has been focused on bridging the gaps between policy and reality, ensuring that the realities, particularly of those who are most vulnerable, are reflected in law and policy making. Senator Jaffer is a strong believer that communities are at the heart of any successful policy initiative, and that women have the true knowledge of their communities.
