The Mothers’ Tent stands in Rabin Square until the election day and would be a hub for Women Wage Peace – Jews, Arabs’ secular and religious. We will uphold, in the tent, the policy of respect, inclusiveness, equality and connection, and will call for mutual diplomatic solution to be the main issue of the election.

This will be the hottest place in town to talk about a political agreement and the inclusion of women in decision making especially on security related issues.

This week some strong and brave Palestinian and Israeli women met for a very moving trip.

The day began with picking up women at the checkpoints; from there we went on to Gedera for an authentic Ethiopian meal with an explanation of Ethiopian traditions. The Palestinians women pointed out similarities with their own customs! We then drove to the beach at Ashdod where we talked and got to know each other; the tour guides told us about the historic background of an ancient structure which is connected to both nations. We then drove to the Negev to the Wadi Attir Project – with exciting explanations from Ghadir Hani, a member of WWP.

This is the second trip for this group; many of the women already knew each other and this enabled us to deepen our acquaintance in a respectful atmosphere despite the complexity of the situation.

”Women are the ones who move things forward and don’t give in to stagnation. They have the willingness and the ability that enable progress. We must act now in order to help the next generation to work towards peace. We cannot lose hope. We must continue to hope that the future will change.”
These are the words of Huda abu Arqoub, our partner, in our path to peace.
(In the first comment there is a link to the full interview.) Listen to her inspiring and hopeful words and to her explanation about the determination of the younger generation in Palestinian society for dialogue and the peaceful resolution of the conflict. We have partners- we have someone to talk to!
